[ EZSTOCK ] – Flower Power, TieDye + Good Vibes

I cannot believe that Ezra is already 6! This year for her birthday she wanted something with lots of rainbows and flowers. Immediately my mind went in 10 different directions with an influx of endless possibilities and excitement to create her dream party. All the dots connected and there it was; A FESTIVAL! My inspiration resembled a lot of the Woodstock Festival; but for kids – and man did it open the floodgates of creativity, rainbows and sunshine!

Like a happy little hamster, my wheels began to turn, the ideas started to pour in and the vision board wrote itself. The DIY’s, the lists, the endless balloons and excitement that builds up every time I start planning these celebrations and I am so excited to share how it all came together! (I will be putting together a separate post with a combination of the DIY’s I put together for EZSTOCK)

One of my favourite parts about putting these events together is the community of local makers here in the Fraser Valley. Being able to include them in the styling of these events, beautiful treats and gifting opportunities makes my heart jump! I know that the same passion I have in creating these events is the same passion each and every creator holds when they bake, paint, sew and create. Something unique and full of heart.

I hope you feel inspired as you read on, inspired to create, dive in to the what-if’s and make magic for your loved ones!

When I was envisioning the style and design of the invitations I reached out to InkPaperLove and knew that Rosa would be able to really encompass the theme and create something Groovy! She has endless prints of her own and also takes custom orders to really make your event pop and add that extra touch!

TREATS

I always find that the treat/snack table is the one that really “wow’s” the guests, and this time it absolutely did not disappoint! We had THREE local artisans come together for this delectable ensemble. Doughnut Love, a new family favourite we discovered this year (and that just celebrated their 1 year anniversary!), Sandra’s Cookie Corner, her cookies are a work of art and look too good to eat! and our one and only, Kizzy Macarons, it’s not a true celebration if Kira’s macarons aren’t present!

I remember when my husband picked up the cookies, he called me right away and said “Have you SEEN these cookies?! They don’t even look real!” Sandra’s Cookie Corner really knocked it outta the park with her creations for EzStock.

Kizzy Macaron‘s created the sweetest little daisies and added the perfect amount of glitter to really make our dessert table sparkle.

Doughnut Love brought the colour and the flavour with their Lemon Poppyseed and Homer doughnuts! Always a chosen favourite at our Sunday morning doughnut stop.

GROOVY BAGS

These were so fun to put together! When I was scouring Pinterest I fell in love this simplistic look for paper bags with a clothespin and daisy. (Shout out to my sister in law who was able to create the cutest little daisies for these!)

I thought these bags were right on theme with the absolutely gorgeous Mini Claw Clips from Antler+Acre, perfect size for kiddos and keeps their hair out of their face and Sprinkle Cookies from Jars by Jodi, bringing the rainbow to the party. I also included a few kid favourites with a ring pop and fidget bracelets I found in a pack on Amazon.

DECOR

The decor for this party came pretty natural, considering we already had a handful of items within our home that easily fit into the theme. A lot of rattan items and macrame and I was able to pick up some fun decorative pieces from our local thrift store, including an beaded chandelier, an amazing Daisy macrame table cloth and a Groovy striped backdrop. The one thing that I really needed to make this event pop was dried floral. Not only is it trending right now, but it is such a gorgeous way to decorate your home and bonus, it lasts forever!

I have worked with Sarah over the last couple years and every time I am blown away by her florals. She is the owner of YouFloral and creates and offers bulk fresh+dried florals for events and weddings. Your order is packed with highest care and Sarah is so helpful if you have questions or need help finding the perfect arrangement for your home or event.

TYE DYE STATION

I don’t think I could express how AMAZING this worked out. This was definitely a proud moment for me haha! I had written on the invitation for each child to bring something white to tie dye and then had large ziplock bags for them to take home their creation in. My husband MANned the station and had a rotation of a few kids at a time, he helped them tie their project then labelled their bag, threw it in to set and off they went. Quick, Clean and Organized, my favourite type of activity!

The next day the kids were wearing their shirts to school to show Ezra. The smile that was on her face was priceless.

DIY’S

These are the DIY’s I did for EZSTOCK, but I will put together a separate post that is more in-depth of how I created each item. But for now, here are some fun photos!

Bouquets

Volkswagon Photo Booth

Beaded Sunglasses

Snack bowls – Nature Bee Wraps

Wooden Signs

Putting these events together brings me so much joy, it fills my cup and allows me to create to my hearts content and connect with this amazing community of creators. The best part? The smile on my daughters face before she drifts off to sleep to dream of the ‘best day ever’.

Thanks for being here and reading along.

Take care and have fun creating!

Tea for TWO – A Tea Party Themed 2nd Birthday

When Ezra was born, I knew right away which theme I wanted to do for her second birthday, Tea For TWO tea-party! Before she was born, obviously I had been scouring the Pinterest world for birth announcements, nursery decor, baby milestones and birthday parties, what can I say, I like to plan ahead! With having regular tea times at home and when she visits with grandma, I knew this theme would be a hit with Ezra. Especially when we brought out her very own tea set!

Tea For Two Birthday Highlights :

  • ‘Chip’ Cake Pops
  • A Tea Party Set Up Fit For Royalty
  • Edible Tea Tag Party Favours + Printable
  • An ‘Iced Tea’ Bar
  • Fresh Floral Sugar Cookies
  • A Surprise Princess Appearance
  • Variety of Mini Sandwiches
  • A Beautiful Floral Backdrop Made From Paper
  • Free Tea Party Colouring Sheets
  • Tea Cup + Tea Pot Cookies

Planning Ezra’s birthday party was so much fun! Thinking of every which way to do floral, mini pastries and let’s not forget those dainty little pinkies! When I originally sent out invitations I made sure to include a fun (and adorable) ‘party attire’ for everyone; Bow Tie or Floppy hat required! This made it so much more fun and some parents really embraced the theme with having their child fully done up with a fascinator and some with bow ties, suspender and side parts combed down. SO cute.

Can we just talk about this amazing treats table for a second?! I don’t think that Dreamagical Patisserie, Soul Sugar, Kizzy’s Macarons and Homemade by Harris could’ve knocked it out of the park any farther! What an amazing group of bakers and makers, each of these treats were so unique and carefully handcrafted to fit a vision I had for this table. I put together a few items myself for the table, including these incredibly easy Pansie Shortbread Cookies. And special thanks to my sister in law, Shannon, for helping out with Ezra’s beautiful floral, tea party cake! She found the perfect tea cup for what I had in mind to sit on the very top! I loved this alternative to birthday candles. (Don’t worry, we added some later for her to blow out!) FUNNY STORY: The past month or so Ezra hasn’t been eating much and refuses pretty much anything we put on her plate, so one day I got out a candle and let her blow it out for every bite she took. This has now become an everyday routine and is helping her eat her full dinner! So when her birthday came, she knew exactly what to do!

DSC_5626DSC_5545DSC_5541DSC_6022DSC_6024DSC_5548DSC_5716DSC_5537DSC_6015

One of the best things to have at a toddler’s birthday party is finger foods. Their little hands are always reaching up on to the table and grabbing anything quick and easy. The morning of the party my husband and I made about 60 sandwiches (four different kinds, because we all know, toddlers are picky!) to fill these little hands and also put together some amazing platters from GRIMMS Fine Meats + Cheese. We had some available down the main table and also others along the side of the deck, lots of options!

DSC_5613DSC_5983DSC_6074DSC_5638DSC_5777

Another ‘A-HA’ moment I had while putting this party together was when I was thinking about beverages, what was I going to serve? What does Ezra like? and what is universal and refreshing to all guests. With it being a tea party, my first thought was obviously tea, and I can’t believe it didn’t come to me sooner, especially working at Starbucks, to do ICED teas! With the options to add water or lemonade to it! So I brewed and iced four different types (Passion Fruit Tea, Black Tea, Green Tea, and Peach Citrus Tea) and set up the Tea Bar! (This was also a very cost effective way to give the guests lots of options and flavours!)

DSC_5734DSC_5554DSC_5557DSC_5728DSC_6011DSC_5488DSC_6008

I’ve recently noticed, and I’m sure it’s no big surprise to anyone who knows me, that when I plan a party, everyone’s invited! So what do you do with 18 toddlers and 6 babies? Well, let me give you a few ideas:

  • Colouring sheets, lots of them. I found mine on Pinterest.
  • Mini triangle sandwiches (ham+cheese, cucumber+mayo, strawberry+cream cheese)
  • Sandbox + Bubbles (Outdoor party)
  • Loose balloons – My daughter will chase a balloon around for hours
  • Invite a Princess! DUH!

DSC_5813DSC_5834DSC_5976DSC_6040DSC_6050DSC_6114DSC_6098DSC_6160DSC_6166

We had a very very special surprise for Ezra in the middle of the party, a real life princess! Belle showed up in her beautiful big golden dress, a basket with goodies and a story book for the children. Most of the children were just struck with awe at this beautiful, bubbly and friendly character that had just entered the back yard! We had so much fun with Belle from Fairy Skye, Ezra and her friends sang with her, twirled in circles with her in their tea party dresses and even had some face painting time! (Which Ezra did not want, but offered up her my cheek instead! Haha) If you haven’t checked Fairy Skye out yet, I would highly recommend that you do for your next event! They’ve got a huge variety of characters for any theme and even have some awesome superheroes!

DSC_5662DSC_5530DSC_5665DSC_6189DSC_5896DSC_6140DSC_5573DSC_6198

We are so thankful for everyone who came out to enjoy the day with Ezra and celebrate her little life, being with us for two whole years and how she’s grown and changed through it all! We are so excited for where this next year will take us, hopefully through some potty training, a big girl bed, and getting rid of those ‘sou-sous’ once and for all.

When I was thinking of what I was going to do for Mackenzie’s 30th, I knew it had to be BIG…right? I started researching, pinterest-ing and sketching the vision of this event in my my notebook. My Little Rainbow – Celebrating a little girl who was Wished For, Hoped For and Prayed For.

This past year was one of the hardest, trying and most broken years I have ever seen someone go through. Last year my sister-in-law went through something no one should ever have to go through, especially more than once. In 2016 Shannon+Derek went through three losses before they were awstruck with the news they’d be expecting their little rainbow on January 28th 2018.

My Little Rainbow Highlights

  • A Floral Matching Mommy + Me Set
  • Homemade Chocolate Covered Strawberries
  • Local and Handmade goodies from all over the Fraser Valley
  • Macrame + Floral backdrop
  • Unique Gift Ideas for a Rainbow Baby + Mama
  • Delicious Macarons from Kizzy’s Macarons
  • Sunshine + Cloud Cookies
  • Epic Rainbow Baby Basket (Link Below to come)
  • Happy Little Miss Evelynne

On May 29, 2017, that little stick showed 2 pink lines; two lines of joy, two lines of hope, but also two lines of fear. Anxiousness of the ‘what if’ and the unknown, only time would tell which path this pregnancy would take. Prayers of strength, trust and health surrounded them as those first months went by. On January 28th 2018 little Miss Evelynne Ruth Winanne Fenton was born, will bright blue eyes and a big loud cry!

This was a baby and MAMA that needed to be celebrated to the greatest extent! The strength that these parents possess has no end and I was so excited to have an afternoon to just love on them and celebrate the ultimate joy that Evelynne is. Thank you to all those who made this happen and come together so beautifully. SG Harvest Feast – When you have all that you need, build a longer table.

From the bottom and top of my heart I want to thank each and every one of these ladies for being apart of the Harvest Feast. It was such a perfect night, an evening one could only dream of. I left there in pure bliss, unsure of if I just walked out of a day dream, because that couldn’t have been reality. The amount of raw emotion, pure community and utmost vulnerability overwhelmed me. This was the whole reason I wanted to host the event, this was the passion and driving force behind it all. I firmly believe that there is always time to rest, no matter how busy. Let it be cherished and sought after! We seem to be so busy with our lives, blogging, business’ and networking it’s hard to find these face to face times, and it needs to happen more!

Thankful. Thankful for a foundation of trust, community, leadership, guidance, perseverance and the love that embodied that Saturday night. The women who attended, the dreams that were dreamt and the goals that were set.

One evening I thought to myself, what brings me joy? Community. Getting to know people. Experiencing life together. This is how I chose to continue and build off leading and living a joy filled life.

The Harvest Feast has been a dream of mine that I didn’t think was attainable. I was nervous, I was a bit lost and frankly, I was scared. What if I do all this work, time in to contacting companies and they all say no, or it doesn’t work out, or no one wants to come. Stop it, I told myself. I want to do this, I need to do this and I am going to do this. And as I reached out, I found myself empowered with the encouragement and guidance from companies, partnerships, and many boss ladies out there, Saturday, October 7th, came.

We laughed, tears fell, and we dug deep into each other’s roots and grew so much closer because of it. I am BEYOND proud to say that this is just the beginning. Evenings like that need to happen more. I would be honoured to explore and conquer this journey of bringing the women we so often see on social media, up on the stage at events, and selling their pride and joy in their product at markets, together. To rest in community, be vulnerable in our fears and discomforts, and be strengthened in joy and love.

I could try for hours to put in to detail of how the evening went, what the vibe and overall feel in the room was, but I wouldn’t be able to bring it justice. How GOOD it felt to just rest and be with each other. To let all the walls of ‘looking our best’ and ‘best version of us’ in front of everyone, down, and to simply just BE. As the evening went on, I discovered that there were all sorts of women gathered at the table. There were Entrepreneurs, Mothers, Hikers, Artists, Photographers, Writers, Bakers, and so many more amazing qualities to discover, that you would never have stumbled upon if you hadn’t taken the time to sit and just be with each other. Face to face and heart on our sleeves. There was an overwhelming sense of comfort that embodied and surrounded the room that evening, whispering, it’s okay to share, it’s okay to let them in, it’s okay to feel sadness and joy. It’s okay.

“Eucharisteo: Thanksgiving, to be thankful. ⠀
I opened the door to the Secret Garden and my eyes were placed upon a setting that was delicately set up with love and passion. A passion for a night where women could gather together intimately and share our hearts. We were created for connection. That longing that you feel was put there on purpose. It was placed just as delicately, passionately and purposeful like that table before us. I didn’t want it to end. My soul thirsts for truer, deep-rooted connection. Sharing our hearts and our dreams, our struggles, and fears. How can we shift our priorities to ones that matter most without being deceived by the things that don’t? To be thankful right where we are but also with a vision of moving forward? ⠀
Refinement. Sanctification. This continuing of being molded by the potter’s hand and being thankful for the process. Humbly let go. Let go of trying to do, let go of my own fears. Let God blow His wind, His trails, oxygen for joy’s fire. Leave the hand open and be. Be at peace. Bend the knee and be small and let God give what God chooses to give because He only gives love and whispers surprised thanks.“⠀- Shannon – Adventurous Mama

LEGO of your DIY fears!

Here are 3 DIY’s that will make sure, EVERYTHING IS AWESOME, at your Lego party!

IMG_6587

A few weeks back, I had the privilege of working along side Chalie from Gold’n’Grasses for a very special birthday party for her son. Being an avid lego collector and enthusiast, he wanted to have nothing more than a party that was completely ENGULFED in the LEGO world!

Now, having a small flash back to when I was a child, my brother, sister and I loved and adored all things Lego, we would want nothing more, for any occasion, than to sit and build, create and imagine for hours on end. When I was first approached for this project,  my 6-year-old-Cassandra-heart was jumping for joy and waiting in anticipation for the day this party would come! Just listening to Chalie talk about all she had planned made my heart pitter patter, dreaming alongside her and envisioning what she was about to achieve! And boy, oh boy did his mama deliver!

Continue reading on for FREE printable’s, created by yours truly, and more DIY projects to make your very own LEGO party for your little (or grown up) super fan. I absolutely LOVED being apart of this event with Chalie and being able to help bring her vision to life. I am always looking to collaborate for my next event, whether it be creating or partnering with creators, so don’t be shy! Let’s Chat.

DIY #1 – Lego Building Activity Cards (FREE Printable)

Get some creativity going and start the spark of imagination with these fun and customizable Lego Activity Cards. These cards were super simple to make and to create a set that was completely unique to Tristan! (ex: Create a number 5 out of Lego, Create a letter ‘T’ out of Lego, etc.) You can move on to creating favourite things of the birthday girl or boy or even just another item that falls into the theme of the party, ex: Police Station. Enjoy!

Below is a link to your very own set of Lego Activity Cards to use at your next party or even just around the house!! I would love to hear what you come up with for your own set that is unique and customized for your little ones!

DIY #2 City Line Photo Booth Backdrop

This DIY was a 3-part task, now I chose to paint the pieces after I had measured and cut them. I also decided to use spray paint so that made it a lot easier as well! Here is a rough break down of how I made these beautiful, simple but dramatic party decor come to life!

Step 1 : Materials

Find what you are going to use as your base for this project. My hubs went to Costco and grabbed a couple of the pieces of cardboard that sit in-between the giant pallets and brought them home to cut up!  (I used 3 pieces of 3ft x 5ft) You can also use cardboard boxes, diaper boxes, or even head over to Michaels or Staples and pick up black poster board.

Step 2: Trace/Sketch

Sketch out the exact shapes that you would like to cut out – here it is not really a big deal if you mess up or have pencil everywhere. You are going to be painting over it soon, but if you are really unsure, take a sharpie or marker and trace the exact lines so you dont make a mistake while cutting!

Step 3: Cutting

This was the most grueling task for this whole project. I used a cutting board underneath while I used my exacto knife and then later on realized that using scissors would be much easier. Just make sure it’s not the cheap-o version!

Step 4: Painting

The paint I found the easiest and quickest to use was spray paint, I placed a large piece of plastic on the ground and did 2 coats of black matte spray paint. You could totally do this with a paint brush, I just imagine it taking 5 times longer!

Step 5: Dry & Set up!

Summertime Sisterhood – up’s&down’s, high’s&low’s and I wouldn’t change a thing.

They say that a sibling is a forever friend. This is a bold statement, especially when you are 9 and your sister is 2, you may be thinking quite the opposite. As time went on, it threw us curve balls and we could do nothing but cling to each other and grow through it. You learn to turn to each other in times of defeat instead of turning your back. You celebrate the small victories and rejoice in the milestones. You start to pull at each other, asking for guidance, for support and sometimes just for a hug. I am so thankful God gave me a sister to go through life with, even if I didn’t realize the blessing in the early years.

Growing up we had a large age gap between us and even though we did get along the odd time, when we got in to mom’s makeup or expressed ourselves artistically with markers on the wall, I don’t think we really ever anticipated what our relationship would one day grow in to. I look back now on the days we spent together, our endless LEGO villages and Sunday morning cartoons, and I can still see that same little 4 year old looking up to her big sis. Waiting for me to make the next move, to tell her if she’s doing a good job or when her pony tail isn’t centered.

To this day, this is still our saving grace, our center of gravity, pulling each other in and lifting each other up. A state of glorification and eagerness to help each other. Why? Because we’re sisters. There’s no other way to explain why we’ll go to the ends of the earth and walk the moon for one another. She’s my little and I’m her big, plain and simple, black and white.

Now in to our twenties, that 7 year gap isn’t making quite such a dent anymore. We both have a home life, work life and personal interests, hobbies and loved ones. Tish is such a great auntie to our little Ez, I find myself sometimes tearing up thinking and dreaming of the relationship that they share and will hold so dear to their hearts.

I remember when we were younger and Tish was trying to figure out what she was going to do after high school, having no direction except knowing she loved art, music and personal connections. She followed in her sisters footsteps and took an interest to Makeup Artistry, luckily that soon dwindled and she fell right in to where she was supposed to be, teaching and caring for children. we are now working in the same field and I am so excited to hopefully work along side her in the classroom and share our joy, excitement, and craziness.

Watching Tish grow over the years has given me a variety of feelings. Feelings of joy and excitement, feelings of anticipation and anxiety but mostly an overwhelming feeling of pride and love. I guess having a larger gap between us opens up the door of almost becoming motherly towards her in the teen years. I have to say though, now being older and being able to share the same passions and interests, it’s like a whole new world. As if I was just waiting for her to catch up to me, waiting for my best friend to arrive.

My not-so-little sister has grown in to this beautiful, funny, courageous and multi-talented young woman and I am SO excited to continue on in life with her. Going on trips, discovering new hobbies and just enjoying everyday to the fullest. Each day is a new beginning to start something new, learn something new and be renewed. I hope and pray that one day we can give Ezra the same blessing that God gave me 21 years ago.

Love you Little One

40’s Lemonade Stand – Styled Shoot

A few months ago, myself and Natalia, The Venture Creative, were having a goals and inspiration girls night and came up for the vision for this shoot. We started to prep and plan different styled shoots, ideas for promotional materials, products we would like to review and companies that made our hearts jump and skip a beat! And thus, the ’40’s Lemonade Stand’ was born.

40’s Lemonade Stand Highlights:

  • Mason Jar/Lemon Sugar Cookies
  • Local Shops & Products
  • 14 Lemons
  • DIY Lemonade Stand
  • Ethical Visions & Support
  • Sweet&Sour faces
  • First Date – Sharing a Sippycup
  • 40’s Themed Outfits

Now my first concern here was, where and how and when am I going to make a Lemonade Stand, and from what? Do I go the route of a large wooden pallet, two wooden crates, or buy one.

**Enter Superhero-Handyman-Hubby**

I explain my thought process to Kenz and the different ways I could go about making the Lemonade Stand and his response, “I’ll just make one!” I think I just fell in love all over again. He took a bunch of left over wood we had from taking apart a bunk bed a few months back, (he also used this for the backdrop at Ezra’s First Flamingo – check it out), and went to work! I could not believe how perfect and beautiful it is! *insert happy cry* While he was building it, he had the face of it complete and I was thrilled! He then told me he had a lot more to do because he wanted it to be sturdy for Ezra and her cousins to play with for a long time to come. He added extra supports, squared it off and made sure everything was tight and secure. What a great man he is, always bringing my dreams to life! I will be making a separate post for your very own DIY Lemonade Stand in the near future so keep your eyes peeled!

We had so much fun with this shoot, involving all three of our children was difficult but so much fun! Luckily we had both of our husbands there to help rangle the kids and make them smile. We really lucked out with the weather that day, the entire week before and after had been in the high 20’s and this day just happened to be overcast. The perfect day for a summer shoot out in the sun.

When I first started searching for who I wanted to involve in this project, there was a couple that came to mind right away and a few that I stumbled upon and am absolutely in LOVE with. Seriously, after you’ve looked through all the beautiful photos by Natalia Reardon Photography, scroll down to all the amazing LOCAL shops involved.

Through planning and executing this vision of the Lemonade Stand, I got to meet some of the makers behind the scenes. I had Kara from Nest&co Handcrafted over for a cup of tea when she brought over the adorable romper photographed above. I think this may be one of my favourite parts of organizing these style shoots is meeting and learning about the shops, how they came to fruition and the passion that keeps them going.

Planning, Prepping and Preparing. 40’s theme, think bonnets, knee high socks and pearls. PEARLS! I remembered I had seen the most adorable mommy and me sets from Baby Bear Design just the other day, I rushed over and behold, there they were, perfect for the girls. Amy has a serious amount of awesome chewellery, teethers, children’s & adult apparel and she has big things coming down the shoot, check her and BabyBearDesign out here!

THE Bonnet. I originally was introduced to Fawn & Lace through Tara Teng, she posted a photo of her little girl in one of her bonnets and I was instantly in love! I contacted Parla and explained the vision behind the 40’s Lemonade Stand and if she would be interested in being involved. Now HERE is the real reason I wanted her beautiful bonnet to be featured in our shoot, to raise awareness and to promote what she is doing behind the scenes. Not only are her bonnets made from recycled materials but for each bonnet that is purchased, she puts $5 of your purchase towards women at risk and survivors of trafficking. Whaaaat? If you can’t already tell, this woman has such a huge heart and is doing amazing things. Go check out her handmade bonnets now and help support not only locally made and sourced items, but for women who need all the help they can get.

Here’s where you can pick up yours, but be quick! They’re only put out in limited releases. Her next release date will be at the end of July.

I got to meet another amazing shop owner along the way, Kim, grandma to Mia and one of the makers behind Mia’s Mocs. They’re goal and driving force is to provide great quality moccasins at affordable prices for new moms, moms with large families, low income families, families with special needs children and military families. You know those moments that just kind of catch you off guard, that you’re not expecting but it is such a joyful surprise when it does? This happened when I ran up to the door to meet Kim, and we ended up chatting for about 20 minutes about her daughter, grand daughter, my little Ez and the goal of Mia’s Mocs. It’s such a joy to get to know the makers, a snippet of who they are and who you are supporting and promoting. So thank you Kim and Alyssia!

The beautiful banner of lemons hung on the Stand was made by Little Sprout Creations and in the midst of her own hustle and bustle of putting together her daughter’s 2nd birthday, her shops 1st Birthday AND a giveaway, she still put time aside to make sure these lemons made it to the shoot. What a gem Jen is, the passion she puts behind her product and customer service is unreal. Thank you Thank you!!

Arn’t these cookies beautiful? Well, if you we’re wondering, yes they tasted even better than they looked! How is that possible? I couldn’t have imagined these cookies looking any other way. DesignerCookies really outdid themselves for this delicious treat for our littles, even though I’m sure they ate way too many during the shoot! Designer Cookies is a cookies company that makes custom sugar cookies to order based in Metro Vancouver. You can order yours here.

Seeing a photoshoot, and very much a project, come together and to fruition filled me with so much joy and excitement for the ones to come. We’ve got some amazing stuff down the shoot and I can’t wait to share it all with you.

XOXO

Here’s a couple post-shoot shots of Ez… How could I resist?! Is there really anything cuter than a naked babe in a basket?

Tropic like It’s Hot, There’s A Birthday Giveaway!

A couple weeks ago Ez and I were invited to join in and celebrate the 1st Birthday Bash for Little Sprout Creations and oh boy, was it a blast! Jen and I met a couple months ago while I was working alongside her at the Local Love in Spring Market for Beluga Baby. We really hit it off and ever since have been almost inseparable! Both having a passion for creating, small children and eating.

The morning started with Jen heading over to my house and piling Ez and I into her GIANT truck. That in itself was an adventure. We headed over to the Jubilee Collection in Abbotsford for a few key pieces that Jen had rented for the day and then arrived at the shoot location; High Street.

When we arrived at the High Street we were both starving and in need of a caffeine boost, I ran over to Starbucks with Ez to grab the goods. I ordered a full breakfast for each of us and a small one for Ez, two coffees and an iced drink. I then lifted out my wallet to pay and the barista leaned closer to me and let me know my order had been paid for in full. There was a man sitting by the window, reading a book, sipping his coffee, and he had given the barista an bottomless gift card for customers order that morning. I couldn’t believe it! People, there is still true, honest, goodness in the world, even if it is in coffee form! Ezra and I grabbed our items to go, but we didn’t leave without saying thank you, Ezra flashed her 6 pearly whites and gave the man a small wave. What an amazing, unexpected, kind way to start the morning.

While prepping, I had the opportunity to gift Jen a mini makeover for the big birthday bash, for those of you who don’t know, one of my part time jobs is M/U for bridal and special events. We were just finishing up and then thought to ourselves, Sephora is right across the walk, endless lipsticks, balms and gloss, let’s go put on something fun! We rushed over, picked out our favorite shades of pink to match our tropical vibe and headed back to the shoot!

How perfect is it that the theme Jen had chosen to celebrate her shops one year of success was tropical! Ezra and I are now veterans of the tropical lifestyle and felt right at home in this flourishing, fruity climate!

When I was trying to put together what I would wear, I was at a loss. The only tropical clothing item I had was a full blown, palm leaf dress and if I wore that, I would’ve blended in with the photo wall. I was digging away in my closet (sidenote: doesn’t it always seem like you have a million dresses that DON’T work when you’re looking for the one that does?) and then there it was, the dress I had hidden away for new years this year. It’s peach, kind of rose/blush, shiny, high-low style and perfect for a birthday bash! Ezra was easy-peasy, Jen had a couple shops come alongside her to celebrate that sent over clothing for each of the littles attending!

Ezra’s outfit details:

Hand made grey tunic from nest and co handmade

Suede and golden mocs from wildonesmocs

Flamingo headband from antlers and acorns.

We were finally ready to go! Despite the fact that when we got there Ez was rearing to go, getting in to everything, watching all the kids play as she sat immobile on the ground, then when the time came for the snack table to be photographed, guess who was asleep. You guessed correct; Ez. She had missed her morning nap and was getting cranky. I hugged her tight and snuggled her in to the Ezra Wrap and she fell fast asleep. But that didn’t stop this mama from getting’ her groove on!

Luckily there was still more fun to be had with the photo wall and extra treats! All these women had a blast with their babes. Thank you so much @littlesproutcreations for having us join in on the fun, it was an event to remember and has me thinking about Stumbling Grace’s birthday, but that won’t be until May next year! Make sure you scroll down for a list of all the shops who came out and helped make Jen’s vision come to life!

If you haven’t heard, Little Sprout Creations is having a HUGE giveaway for their first birthday. Head over here to enter in on the fun! There is some amazing stuff to be won.

Thanks for stopping by! Don’t forget to check out the vendors and guests below!

PS: Arn’t these two just adorable, I hear wedding bells ringing!
